Staging Services Ltd based in Walsall is a leading national provider of modular staging, for in excess of 27 years we have been providing technical support facilities to the very diverse and exciting live events industry.
We now require an additional full time Stage Crew/Technician who, after training will be responsible for the installation and removal of modular staging system, stage sets and associated presentation equipment.
Suitable applicants will have the following competencies:
Possibly previous experience in stage and stage set installation or related areas such as exhibition stand construction. Training in the use of our products will be given to successful applicants.
Basic DIY skills.
Practically minded and hands on experience.
Energy, enthusiasm, ambition and a 'can do' attitude.
Physically fit.
Prepared to work on occasions at a working height of 5m.
Experienced at driving both large panel vans and 7.5t vehicles [although HGV training may be provided]
Full clean driving licence required.
Prepared to work both indoors and out.
Have a flexible approach to hours of work and working durations.
An appreciation that punctuality and achieving deadlines is of the upmost importance.
Have a very tidy working disposition and an eye for presentational detail.
Have an appreciation and understanding of the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace.
Prepared to stay away overnight on occasions.
Able to work within a small team.
Able to read construction drawings - Training will be given.
The ability to complete written job reports.
A continuous desire for both self and company improvement.

Stage Crew Job Description:
The following is not an exclusive or exhaustive description of the role. Other duties may be requested of the employee if it is believed that they are capable of performing the given task competently and safely.
To assist in the preparation, checking and making ready for use on site Modular Staging, Stage Accessories, Stage Sets, LED Star Cloth, Dance Floors, Drapes and all other ancillary presentational equipment.
To assist in the loading and off loading of the above.
Perform vehicle checks.
To drive commercial company vehicles to/from site.
To install and strike the above equipment as prescribed by the Project Managers to the agreed company standards.
Typical venues worked at will include hotel suites, conference venues, exhibition halls, marquees, shopping malls etc...
In the absence of the Project Manager liaise with the client.
Hours of work:
The crew member will require a very flexible approach to hours of work as times on site are literally 24/7. The "call" times will be advised via the "Call Sheet" which will be published and updated weekly or as required.
Hours worked will be approximately 40 hours per week.
The call sheet is organised so that driving hours remain within ministry legislation.
The technician will need to accurately record on a daily basis the actual hours worked.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Operations Manager.
Ensuring that the company's objectives are maintained at all times.
That all equipment is prepped, installed and removed in line with the company's procedure and to an established standard.
That all paperwork is maintained in good order and submitted on time as requested.
